Align Health Co was founded to provide an elevated level of healthcare to the Mackay community.
Maree is a Clinical Psychologist who was born and remained in Mackay throughout her career. She has seen many changes in the provision of health services over the past 30 years. Maree is passionate about holistic health and was thrilled that two of her children also chose careers in the health field. She understands the importance of allied health care providers working together for the benefit of clients.
Jacob has been at Align Health since the beginning with a passion for helping individuals and the community. He sees the interactive nature of mental and physical health and the importance of working in a holistic way both within his practice and working with other allied health professionals for the benefit of the client.
Jacob + Maree continue to expand their knowledge so their clients can achieve real results and become the best versions of themselves.
Jacob Deguara
Chiropractor + Clinical Manager
Dr Jacob started studying chiropractic in 2013. He was first interested in the medical field because of his great results seeing a chiropractor. Jacob lives an active healthy lifestyle and he strives to support other people to also live life to the fullest.
His passion lies in seeing his clients go from chronic suffers of pain to living an active lifestyle and thriving in life. Due to his history of playing sports from a young age he is also passionate about supporting athletes of all ages and levels. The focus for these clients are not only reducing pain but enhancing sports performance and reducing injury and recovery time.

Maree Deguara
Founder + Clinical Psychologist
Maree has a strong history in working with a variety of issues and client groups over many years. She worked in community health for over 15 years including mental health, family health, sexual health, and general community health centre as a sole psychologist.
She is passionate about psychology and curious about the human condition and has been proactive throughout her career with professional development and training.

Altus van den Heever
Chiropractor
Dr Altus (Albertus) completed his Master of Clinical Chiropractic in 2022 with a keen interest in human biomechanics. Altus is a keen fisherman, loves the outdoors and believes everyone should be able to go out and do what they love to the best of their ability after a week of hard work.
His interest is in improving biomechanical function through adjustments, strengthening and mobilization as well as identifying workplace factors impacting or preventing recovery. He believes education is key in prevention of future injury and invites his patients to take an active role in their pursuit of health and wellbeing.

Lindy Brigg
Receptionist
Lindy joins our team as a Mackay local with extensive experience in Medical Reception work and a passion for helping people.
Her caring and friendly nature welcomes you to the clinic, making you feel at ease from your first visit.
Lindy believes in living a healthy lifestyle and enjoys cooking, spending time with family and exploring local camping spots on her days off.
Morag Marshall
Chiropractic Assistant
Morag moved to Mackay in 2019 with her husband, she has been working as a Chiropractic Assistant since then.
Having previously worked with Dr Jacob, she was keen to join his new team at the start of 2023.
Morag enjoys working with and supporting Dr Jacob and the team at Align Health Co. She ensures that all clients are warmly greeted and receive the best care from the moment they enter the clinic.
In her free time Morag enjoys spending time with her husband and her dog, Billy, and with her family when they get to visit. She likes to keep active and healthy, attending the gym most days of the week, and has recently taken up park run.
