Performance Appointment in Mackay | Align Health Co.

Performance Care Built for Athletes and Active People in Mackay

A 45-minute appointment that brings chiropractic care, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation together, designed to keep you moving well, performing better, and staying out of the treatment room long-term.

Chiropractic Care That Goes Beyond the Adjustment

Most chiropractic appointments focus on the immediate complaint. The Performance Appointment is built around where you want to go, not just where it hurts right now.

Whether you’re a sports person preparing for pre-season, a junior athlete managing load, or someone returning to the sport or gym they love after an injury, this appointment is designed to support performance, not just manage pain.

You get the clinical assessment and hands-on treatment you’d expect from a chiropractic visit, combined with tailored strength, conditioning, and rehabilitation programming, all under one roof.

Is the Performance Appointment Right for You?

Competitive Athletes

Competitors, team sport athletes and weekend warriors looking for injury screening, sport-specific programming, and pre-season or in-season support.

Returning from Injury

People working their way back after a soft tissue injury, joint issue, or extended time off, who want a structured plan to return to activity safely.

Strength and Fitness-Focused Individuals

Gym-goers, powerlifters, and active people who want to train with more structure, move better, and reduce the risk of setbacks before they happen.

Junior Athletes and Development Players

Young athletes in development programs who want to build strong movement foundations, manage training load, and support long-term physical health.

What Happens in a Performance Appointment

Full Musculoskeletal Assessment

Every Performance Appointment starts with a thorough evaluation covering posture, movement patterns, functional capacity, and injury risk screening. Imaging is arranged when clinically appropriate.

Hands-On Treatment

Based on your assessment, treatment may include spinal adjustments, dry needling, joint mobilisation, cupping, or activator techniques. These treatment methods will be used on a patient-to-patient basis, depending on clinical indications and patient presentations.

In-Clinic Rehabilitation and Exercise Guidance

You won’t be handed a PDF and sent home. Rehabilitation and functional exercises are performed in the clinic, with direct guidance from your practitioner. You leave with confidence and a clear understanding of how to move, not just a printout to work through later.

Performance and Strength Programming

For athletes and active individuals, the appointment includes sport-specific programming, pre-season and in-season load management, and strength and conditioning guidance tailored to your goals and training schedule.

Return-to-Play Protocols

If you’re recovering from injury, your practitioner will work through a realistic return-to-play or return-to-training plan with you, including modifications to keep you active while you recover.

Developed by Someone Who Has Worked at That Level

FAQs about Performance Appointment

Is this appointment covered by health insurance?

Health fund rebates may apply for chiropractic services depending on your level of extras cover. We recommend contacting your fund before your appointment to confirm your entitlements.

Do I need to be an athlete to book a Performance Appointment?

No. This appointment suits anyone who wants to take a structured, performance-focused approach to their health, whether you play competitive sport, train at the gym, or a weekend warrior.

What's the difference between a standard chiropractic appointment and a Performance Appointment?

A standard chiropractic appointment focuses on assessment and treatment of a presenting complaint. The Performance Appointment adds education around your condition, strength, conditioning and injury prevention. This includes rehabilitation programming, movement screening, and sport-specific planning, delivered by a practitioner with direct experience inside high-performance programs.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Wear comfortable, flexible clothing that allows for movement assessment. If you have any relevant imaging (X-rays, MRI, ultrasound reports), bring those along. Arriving a few minutes early to complete your intake paperwork helps the session start on time.

Can I continue my training while attending appointments?

This depends on your condition, presentation and goals. Your practitioner will discuss training modifications at your first appointment and update recommendations as your plan progresses.

How many appointments will I need?

This varies depending on your starting point and goals. Your practitioner will give you a realistic outline at your first appointment. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, and you won’t be given an extended treatment plan without a clear explanation of why.

Ready to Train Smarter and Move Better?

The Performance Appointment is for people who want more than a quick fix. Book your initial 45-minute session and get a clear picture of where you’re at, what’s holding you back, and how to move forward.
